"Special greetings to you now arriving in Ouro Preto through this tourism website. A National Monument since 1933 by federal government decree, the town was granted by UNESCO the title of World Cultural Heritage, in 1980. Thus, each one of the brazilians and all the world´s population are linked to Ouro Preto sharing with us the joy of enjoying, valuing and protecting this singular site of history and culture.

Tourism is the modern social and economic answer to the preservationist efforts and the adequate use of cultural assets. Our town is always looking for ways of developing and improving the structures that will allow us to correctly explore this great industry of services. In direct line with the Administrations of brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and state governor Aécio Neves, as well as partnerships with public and private institutions and businesses, we sum up our efforts to consolidate actions of wide reach, such as the ongoing project of reviving the old colonial Royal Route.
